Top Things a UX Design Company Can Do for Your Website
A few years back when I was designing a new website for an insurance company we decided to outsource a few things. We wanted to cut down on our front-end development cost, so we asked our web design agency if they had any good candidates for our "User Interface Testing" role. They recommended one company in particular to us - they had previously worked with the insurance company and loved their work so we thought we would try them out. I'll discuss what they did to improve our website below.
Our first candidate for this role was a young lady from Google. She had previously worked at Apple, where she did a lot of testing for their apps - both on the iPhone and iPad. She had done web testing for an app that pitched itself as a "social network for sharks". She obviously had no UI testing experience so I didn't think she was the right person for the job.
We interviewed her, sent her a couple of test builds and then watched to see what she did. So far, so good. The next step was to ask her what kind of UI testing she was doing. Did she have a team of testers who were actually working on the website? Or was the website being built by one person?
We went through a couple of iterations, testing the site. She passed all of our tests - everything was smooth sailing. Then it hit us. The website wasn't being tested at all! I hadn't written any unit tests or even been aware that there were unit tests. We were just sitting there wondering why this website was not being built.
We started to call her and find out what her process really was like. We got a phone call back explaining that she had outsourced his work to a UI Testing Company. Her entire team now had their own dedicated project manager. She explained that the company had strict guidelines - they wanted their website to be bug-free and functional. They hired a UI Testing company to oversee their progress and make sure their website was as good as they could get it. It was really neat.
So what does a web design company do?
A few things. The following are the top things a UI Testing company can do to help your website:
By hiring a dedicated full-time tester, you can focus on making the most of your website. They will have their own dedicated team, reporting and tracking everything that happens on the website. You'll get access to the latest testing platform - browser window crashes, web security vulnerabilities and many more. The team will collaborate with you to ensure your website is as user-friendly and functional as possible.
There are several other things a Web Design Company can do for your website as well. For example, they can conduct market research and user surveys. They can also offer consultancy services to help you optimize your website for search engines. If you need to revamp the look of your website or want to make it SEO-friendly, a professional web designer can help. They can set up a blog, link you to social media accounts and much more.
It can be hard to test out a new website from scratch. A professional company can also help you out. This means they'll do all the website testing for you. So you won't have to spend months or years trying to figure out how to make your website work.
A web designer is one of the best resources you can hire to optimize your website. Most designers are able to create user interfaces that are both functional and aesthetically pleasing. They can provide a portal that is easy to navigate, making it a joy to use. A talented website designer can add interactivity to your website that will draw users into the site. With this skill, you can attract and retain more repeat visitors to your site.
As you can see, hiring a professional web design company can do more than just provide you with a website. They can help you make the most of the website, ensuring it's the best it can possibly be for your business. Once they've tested the website and implemented their improvements, you'll have a website that works and functions like it was designed. It's time to get it out there.
